Really? So sacrifice Ukraine to Putin if we don’t get everything we want?


I don’t favor this delay tactic and I agree with dem efforts to at least combine Ukraine and Israeli aid, but I would not vote against it and keep Ukraine where it is, if combined bills simply won’t pass. Even if just because Johnson is preventing it from getting a vote.

I would follow the lead Zelenskyy mentions in this interview yesterday, when asked if he was ok with a loan. Right now they have 1 artillery shell for every 10 the Russians fire. He needs the aid however he can get it. He’s not interested in squabbling over the form of aid. Dems should not join with the repubs in obstructing aid.

If Johnson refuses to bring a combined bill to the floor, dems can pick up their cards and go home, and feel good about themselves, I guess, but Putin will be quite satisfied with that result. And in Nov, Biden will have a tougher time convincing people it was only the repubs’ fault. Dems will have partnered with them.
